Stop plastic waste

Our name Altglas (German for „glass waste“) is also our mission: We want to show the beautiful upcycling products you can build from old glass bottles and inspire you to think about even more upcycling ideas.

An upcycling soap dispenser as a bridge between art, utility and waste attracts attention and is intended to inspire people to find upcycling opportunities in all areas of life. You can refill it as many times as you like and honestly, doesn’t it look way better than the cheap plastic soap dispensers?

Every German produces 220 kg of packaging waste per year on average. Even though we have effective recycling systems in Germany and many parts of Europe, it has long been clear that things cannot go on like this. We therefore want to suggest the principle of 5 „R“ to you:

• Refuse what you don’t need.
• Reduce buying the things that you need.
• Reuse what you can use again.
• Recycle what you can’t reuse.
• Rot: Compost the rest.

Instead of buying a new plastic soap dispenser in the drugstore once a month, you can fix an old bottle as a refillable soap dispenser. You can refill it as many times as you like and honestly, doesn’t it look way better than the cheap plastic soap dispensers?
